Partner Investments Make a Difference

Strong partnerships are vital to supporting NeighborWorks America's mission to create opportunities for people to live in affordable homes, improve their lives and strengthen their communities. Together, with the support of many organizations, we are making a difference by meeting the moment in advancing the housing and community development field.

Following are a few examples of how these strong partnerships strengthen our organizations and the communities they serve.

Partner Spotlight

Advancing Equity for Communities of Color

Longtime partner JPMorgan Chase invested in wealth building for renters and potential homeowners by preparing financial coaches through an 18-month learning intensive to improve equitable service delivery. One strategy tested involved customer journey mapping, where understanding the customers' perspective allowed organizations to adapt processes for greater accessibility.

In 2021, Fifth Third Bank deepened its commitment with NeighborWorks America to accelerate and scale local, successful strategies to increase homeownership and wealth-building in communities of color.

Community Resilience

As small businesses across the country faced unprecedented challenges through the COVID-19 pandemic and resulting crisis, the Republic Services Charitable Foundation’s $1 million grant to NeighborWorks America helped small businesses overcome these challenges in eight communities. These grants were designed to promote neighborhood revitalization and support locally owned, small, neighborhood-serving companies in need of physical improvements to assist in recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic and/or recent civic unrest.
